The map shows the drastic transformation of a small village into a bigger town from 1980 to 2012.

Overall, Milton has grown from a tiny village to a larger and more populous town over the course of 22 years. During this whole time, many amenities and infrastructure were developed to accommodate more people.

In 1980, Milton had fewer residential properties, more greenery and a high street that divided the village into eastern and western parts. The east side of the high street contains a few houses, a park with a cafe along the street, and some shops at the southeast corner. On the western side, various facilities such as a hospital, a school, a bank, and a playground were constructed.

However, the village had grown dramatically by 2012. The bank was converted into a restaurant and the trees in the southwest of the town were cut down to make way for a technopark. The houses in the east and the play ground in the northwest of the high street were replaced with flats. Furthermore, the café and the park east of High Street made way for a hotel and a golf course, while the shops became a supermarket.
